I Thought the Pain was Here to Stay

Sometimes, people wake up with pain expecting it to clear up on its own. But when it doesn’t, they may slowly begin to accept it as their new normal.

One of our patients came to Ember Chiropractic with difficulty rotating through her mid-back. She had noticed the restriction in her everyday movement, but it had become something she had simply gotten used to.

During her examination, we found significant restriction in her mid-back. After analyzing her spine and movement, we used a specific Gonstead knee-chest adjustment.

The change was immediate.

“I didn’t know I was so stuck. I feel like I can go to sleep right now.”

What stood out to us wasn’t just the improvement in her ability to move, it was how quickly she was able to relax afterward.

A good adjustment can trigger the parasympathetic nervous system: that’s what is responsible for relaxation, digestion and lowered stress levels. This patient was able to immediately and noticeably relax after her adjustment.

She graciously allowed us to share her experience:

“I… have been working in healthcare for 53 years and still going strong, all due to Dr. Benning and the Gonstead technique.”

She also shared that she has discontinued three medications and believes the changes she has experienced are connected to feeling less inflammation since beginning care.

Medication decisions are personal and should always be made in consultation with the appropriate prescribing healthcare professional. What we celebrate is her experience of feeling better, moving better, and continuing to pursue the active life she wants.

I didn’t know chiropractic could help with that.

Many people think of chiropractic care only when they have back or neck pain.

But your body is made up of around 300 joints and chiropractors can help every single one.

At Ember Chiropractic, we see people looking for help with a wide variety of musculoskeletal concerns, including the jaw, shoulders, hips, wrists, ankles, ribs, and even tennis elbow.
